I have noticed in the book and on this message board that not a lot of department store lines are recomended, except occasionaly Shiseido sunscreens or Clinique things here and there (sorry if I missed some, haven't read all!)
Anyone else out here like dept store brands for their skincare? If so, what have you had success with?
I like Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away foaming cleanser/toner and their Daywear spf 30. Even though not rec'd in the book, the ingredients seem fine and they work quite well for me.
Does anyone else like to experiment outside of Dr. B's reccs or do you pretty much stick to the book?

I experiment a lot with regard to products, but not ingredients.  Dr. B's advice regarding ingredients have helped me so much, I tow the line!
I am very fond of Clarins and Shiseido products, especially Shiseido's STS cleansers: love the smell, and have no sensitivity to fragrance.
I also love Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair -- it calms my aching face!!

I used to love Shiseido but I can't use their new reformulated Extra Gentle Cleansing foam. For some reason, that one breaks me out where the old Gentle Cleansing foam didn't. Bummer! I too loved the texture and smell but since I found the Lauder version, I have been really happy with it. I just feel a lot of the products Dr. B rec's lack the scents and textures I like so as long as they don't irritate or break me out, I'll continue using them.
