I live in an apartment complex in Arizona and have been battling with hard water.  Every time I step out of the bath, I get tiny red bumps ALL OVER!  Not to mention, it dries out my hair and skin.  I do believe it is the main culprit to my continuous break-outs (acne) as well.

Because I live in an apartment, I am unable to install any type of filtration or water softening system.  I've heard adding baking soda or bath salts helps to soften the water... anyone find this to be true?  What would you do?

I'm not asking for advice on moisturizers, etc.  I've got that well covered, just wanted to address the hard water issue and it's affect on my skin.

Thank you for any input you can give.   Smiley

I believe you can get shower heads with built-in filtration so that might be an option.

Thank you Josh!  I found one today at Lowe's.  Much cheaper and easier to install than I thought!  So far so good!

I also purchased a shower head replacement with filter to remove chlorine and what a difference it has made for my skin.  My skin is much less irritated and tight when I take a shower.  Found it on Amazon, a Culligan model for about $25.

I just bought a sprite shower filter head recentley and it has made such a difference.  My skin is so much less dry than it used to be.  I used to take showers and feel dry the rest of the day.  Now Showers are actually refreshing again.
